meanwhile, i was in nyc for a long girls weekend- jeremy decided to let jacob sleep on the bottom bunk- but at midnight fri night, jacob comes walking into our bedroom with his arm out the neck hole of his shirt- it was stuck- he managed to get out of the bed, open the door (no nightlight) and walk to our room in the dark ... so, i decided he is not ready to sleep in there yet, not til he understands you dont do that! bc, luckily he didnt decide to walk up the stairs in the dark (no gate on the stairs)...so, mean mommy put him back in his crib when i got back home- and i think he is sleeping better anyway! he was super grumpy when i got back...
jeremy was superdad when i was gone- he took the boys to cici's solo, and to olive garden, too (the girls went to reginas)...usually he has them help out or takes the boys to his parents at some point and they hang out with dad and nana/pawpaw, but this time he kept them himself- all boys, no girls!
nyc was alot of fun- i went with several friends of mine- we had to get up way too early to catch our flight- but it was still worth it- first day, we went to serendipity- we had the BEST ice cream sundae ever- it was huge and had this delicious humble pie in it (peanut butter pie with graham cracker crust)...yum...
that night, we went to see grease- it was a good show, then we ate some nyc pizza- yum!
friday morning, we headed to chinatown to get some purses- my friends were shocked at the back rooms full of purses/wallets, etc... it is a bit overwhelming if you havent been before, and even if you have! the first few rooms, we werent so good at negotiating prices, but we got better as the day went by... and bought WAY too many purses by the end of saturday (we went back on sat). friday night, we had dinner with my sister (so good she played hookie to spend the day with us on friday) and my friends from college... saturday night, we had dinner with my freind's friend- at a yummy itailian restaurant... we also spent tons of time walking walking walking- and more walking- in the city that never sleeps- walked around times square alot.. and saw a nkotb billboard- in 2008 seemed so weird to see it!
justin had a bday party to go to on sunday- and so i had a friend take him for me- his 2nd outing with another mom/kid not family.. he did great- and had a blast! although, when she came to pick him up sunday morning, jeremy forgot- and was in his boxers- heard the doorbell, ignored it- but then realized there was a car in the driveway and remembered, grabbed a blanket, peeked out the door, and told her 'give me 5 minutes' and she said when he shut it she heard him yell 'JUSTIN!!!!!!!!!!! we have to get dressed NOW!!!!!!!!!!' too funny... maybe he (jeremy) should pay more attention to me, right? when i tell him things?
Yum Serendipity!! Gretchen and Lisa took me for my birthday a few years ago. Love their frozen hot chocolate!
