June 6-7-8

june 6th, i was off work- originally planned to go to dallas and meet a friend from college/old roommate(s)/sorority sister(s) bc my one friend, natalie, was going to be there for work- she lives in san diego- and then another one, meredith, was going to meet us driving from austin- well then, natalie's trip got canceled but meredith and i still wanted to take the weekend away- and i was already off friday- so instead we headed to conroe for the weekend- to stay at my friend, joci's place. (also college/sor sis). friday we laid out at the pool in between rain showers- and fri night we went out to eldorado jack's- a bar/restaurant on the water- had some food and drinks- and went home for the night- after a quick run to mcdonalds- :) i had my meatless cheeseburger happy meal but when we got home i did not want to eat it- the drinks hit me and i was not wanting to eat! so joci and i stayed up and chatted for an hour or so til i was ready to lay down and not spin..ha!

saturday, was boat day- joci lives on the water and has her own boat, but when we went to start it- realized that the electrician who had cut off the power to a fountain she got rid of- had also cut off the power to her boat loader thing (lol i have no idea what it's called) so we couldn't get the boat off - luckily, she had friends who were out on their boat for the day- and they had room for the 4 of us (joci, mere, me and john- joci's bf)... we stayed out all day- some went tubing (not me bc i didnt want to get thrown off).. hung out in the water where we anchored off- and then ended at eldorodo jack's again... i came home sat night- so as not to feel guilty for being gone yet another weekend- mere stayed til sunday.

sunday morning worked out with eden as usual, then jeremy was doing some more fishing- this time, he had taken the boys to bass pro shop while i was away, and bought justin a star wars pole- which jacob wanted... but he didnt buy jacob one? and he bought himself one.. they all had fun...

this next one is funny- jeremy, jacob, and justin are all covering their eyes bc pawpaw is about to throw his line out and they dont want to get hooked

That evening, the boys and i we went to sara and troy's house to meet their new baby girl, emma- who was born on that friday (6th) and was the exact same weight and height as jacob was- 9 lbs 2 oz. anyway- can i just say that if i had the money and the TIME mainly- i would have just one more baby (oh, and i would probably need jeremy to agree, right??? ;-) because my boys LOVE babies- jacob always stands around babies in their carrier, points to them and says 'baby' and wants to touch their face, hands, etc... justin LOVES to hold babies- and has asked me when we can have a baby sister- and wants to name her emily- (bc that is the girl's name who he has a crush on).. he said he wont mind if she cries, and he will just not play with his toys until she is asleep so she wont try to take them. justin picked out a bib with a pacifier on it to give to her (we went to kohls first) and was so proud he found it...

anyway- he held baby emma- and i kept asking him if he was ready to stop holding her- and every time he'd say 'no' he wanted to sit there and hold her forever- it was so sweet- then, of course, jacob wanted to get in on it- so i gave him his turn (with justin supervising telling him what to do)- but he wanted to also touch her nose when saying 'nose' and her eyes , etc- i had to tell him to be gentle and POINT don't touch- and then, when he was done he kinda just 'threw' her to me but i was ready for that- so no harm done lol... then justin wanted another turn- he held her and held her and held her...

friday night, justin's bunk bed attacked his foot- you see- he woke up screaming in the middle of the night- luckily jeremy was on the couch and heard him- bc i didnt always leave his monitor on since he is capable of getting out of bed and coming to us if he needs something- but in this case, he couldnt- his foot got stuck in between the slats in the bunk bed, and jeremy said he had to kind of pry it out- and he had scratches from it-  poor justin!  he didnt want to sleep there at bedtime, but jeremy convinced him that it was okay.

Saturday, jeremy decided to take justin fishing in our neighborhood lake (catch and throw them back in)- he used kyle's fishing poles- i was running errands, but when i got back, i picked up jake and met them at the gazebo- of course jacob likes the water so most of the time was spent making sure he didnt jump in!  after that, there was a pool party at the neighborhood pool with snow cones, water and popcorn and music- we enjoyed it, except for the fact that justin suddenly forgot how to swim and wouldnt even try (frustrating) and jacob did not want anyone holding him- he thinks he can float!

i think justin's goggles were a little too tight, dont you?  (see below)

that tuesday (june 3) was my mom's birthday, happy birthday- grandma bird!  i made her this silly card...

it was also my good friends birthday- so we celebrated at dinner in the village- her nice hubby surprised us and showed up and paid the bill- very nice!  it was tapas food- and i am picky!  but i did find some potato stuff i liked-

and, i had to work late (like 6:30-7) 2 times last week, which never happens (i know i am lucky) so jeremy had fun making comments about me not really working late- but spending time with my 'boyfriend' he imagines...

last thursday was the girls last day of school, they were super excited for summer, but are already bored!  they have alot planned this summer between dance and cheer camps, visits to schlitterbahn, dallas, san antonio, galveston, and practices... but at the same time, they have alot of free time to do nothing- including NOT CLEANING- which, they will learn is not okay!  when you sit home all day in your room you MUST clean up!  you have nothing else to do!  ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh  brooke did clean up last night- after being told, so that was nice.  britt is currently at camp..

more to come...

justin's last day as a frog...

justin had a fun week for his last week of school- and on the last day, friday (may 30)- he had 'field day' well, since i am a picture freak- i needed to see what was going on and get some pics, so i sent my digital camera in his backpack and asked the teachers to please take a few! he is going to miss miss rene and miss terri- but he will still see them since he's at the same school- actually, for the summer, miss renee is still his teacher with miss lisa.

here is a class picture- he's standing next to his bff, M.

update- jacob sprays himself with clorox and hits his head falling off a bench...

lol...

jacob is a little curious and a little clumsy these days-

so, last tuesday, i told him "jacob, today when you go to nana's house, we're not going to spray clorox in our face, and no falling down on your head, okay?"
and he said "okaaaaaay"-  so nonchalant about it- he cracks me up

so, two thursday's ago,  jacob sprayed himself in the face with clorox at nana's house she called m at work to tell me - she said he kept going to the cabinet and seh ketp telling him no and then she was standing right next ot him when it happened he grabbed it by the handle and picked it up and it sprayed in his face a little she immediately grabbed him and threw him in the water and luckily i dont hink it got in his eye, she thought it did bc his eye was red but it was from crying i think bc he wa fine a few minutes after..i called my friend, s, bc she is an eye dr and she said that if it had gotten in his eye, he would not be 'fine' he would still be crying sting - and also for in the future (note to anyone reading this)- dont rinse eyes off with water if something gets in them bc the ph balance in the water can irritate the eye even more - instead, rinse them with a saline solution like visine or contact solution.  Nana felt horrible, but it could happen to anyone- jacob is sneaky and curious!

THEN, last monday- there was a park playdate with justin's friends from school-  nana was trying to take a picture of the boys bc they were both on the bench- she said she guessed he thought he was in a chair with a back, because he leaned back, and flung himself backward off the bench and bumped the back/top of his head and scraped it (under his hair) - he wasnt disoriented or anything after- but she kept him up for a good 3 hours just in case he knocked something loose (haha)..

Justin is a CROC!

i know i have more updates to do- but in the mean time i thought i'd post these pics of justin and let u know how excited he is that he is now a 'croc'  that means he started his new class at his preschool, world of wonder-  the classes are tadpoles (2 yr) guppies (3 yr, but he skipped that) frogs (4 yr) and crocs (5 yr).  he asked all week last week if it was the day he went to school- it is a big deal to be in the big kid class- as i learned last year when two girls from his class got to go to the crocs class for a few hours and he was confused as to why they didnt pick HIM!  funny- but, as of monday, he is now a croc... :)

my camera is messing up (i JUST GOT IT) my small one- making me mad- but anyway, here's a blurry picture i took of him at nana's before he went to school.  look at him with his hang loose hands- i did not tell him to do that!  not sure where he learned it -

memorial weekend

so- for memorial weekend, we went to baton rouge, louisiana to visit my grandparents- grandma sylvia and papa lou- also, my mom was in town (grandma bird we call her) and my sister, and her son- 'little'. our dog sitter, barbie came to keep stormie, and we headed on our way saturday morning... we didn't hit traffic, but spent a fortune in gas and 'snacks' and heard several 'how much longer, are we there yet' s i know it is payback and probably makes my dad smile to know i am listening to my kids ask me that same question i asked him over and over and over again on that same trip from houston to baton rouge (mom always slept).. 4.5 hours later, we made it to our destination- the cook hotel- which is on the LSU campus and is a really nice hotel- we had a suite with a kitchen and family room and separate bedroom- and huge bathroom with 2 sinks- perfect size for the 6 of us. there is also a huge, nice pool, too- and free breakfast from 7:30-9:30am. grandma bird bought all the boys a new toy and the girls swimsuits (including mwah) when we got there- we played outside a little, and then headed to my grandparents favorite- the picadilly, for dinner that night..it was nice that jeremy is able to help get papa lou in and out of the car, bc he doesnt get to go out much- justin is GREAT with papa lou- he knows just what to say and how to act around him- so proud of him- and i told him how special he was to papa lou and how great he was with him- put a big grin on his face... justin also entertained us in the kitchen, while papa did his exercises, justin showed us HIS exercises- that he does like mommy- push ups, sit ups, and chase the rabbits- lol see below...

sunday, we got up- almost missed breakfast- and headed to grandparents house- the boys loved playing with their little cousin, little- and brooke enjoyed playing 'fur elise' over and over and over again on the piano- she's actually pretty good at it! brittany and jeremy spent time picking on each other watching tv in the den... during nap time, we headed back to the hotel- boys napped, jeremy played his video game, and the girls went to the pool- i went for a jog around the lake but it was HOT HOT HOT and so i didnt get very far- came back and did some arm work and then took a quick shower and met the girls at the pool- it was perfect temp for the water. then, while the girls and i showered (not together, you sickos) jeremy took justin to the pool- and justin decided to be scared of the water - and insisted he could NOT swim without goggles- so jeremy got frustrated and they came back upstairs after about 10 mintues.

we headed back to grandma and papa's house and went to eat at yummy outback! jacob kept us entertained by his usual antics- throwing his crayons on the floor, menu on the floor, anything else he felt like throwing on the floor- and my sister got a huge kick out of it, because jacob is alot like little- who is also a challenge- whereas justin is 'perfect' she says- lol... so she is enjoying that not both of my boys are 'perfect'..haha! jacob does provide quite some entertainment- he is a funny boy!

after dinner, we took a walk to the lake and got a few pictures- lisa walked papa back and mom and grandma headed back- they left me and the girls with the boys- justin, jacob and little- which was quite a challenge trying to hold onto jacob and little to keep them from running in the street or water- each trying to pull a different direction! (see picture)..on the way back to the house, we successfully taught little how to sing 'oh oh oh oh oh, the right stuff' and he now sings it to aunt lisa and uncle jule- who just loves it (haha)

monday morning, we headed over for our goodbyes- but we let the girls sleep in a little and go to the hotel pool until we got back- we finally got back monday afternoon and had tons of laundry to do- fun! not.

the week after memorial day- we got an idea of the pain in the booty it is for brittany to not be driving yet- she had practice for 3 days after school for drill team- practice was 4:30-6:30- which meant she got home at 3 and had to be back at 4:30- which means jeremy or i would have to leave work by 3:30 to get home by 4 to get her to school by 4:30... luckily, 2 of the 3 days, i had her find a ride- and we drove her home all 3 days...
