sea world, san antonio- june 26-29

then thursday and friday i was off work (yippee) to go to san antonio with the family- we rented a house for the long weekend - found it on www.vrbo.com- it was nice to have a 2 story, 4 bedroom house to stay in- instead of a cramped hotel room- it was only a few exits from sea world (our main destination- thanks to justin, who saw a sea world commercial- and asked if we could go- and nana casually said yes- not realizing he was totally dead set on it- so the trip was planned)... well there were these silky satin sheets on the bed in the main bedroom- and justin was sharing a bed with pawpaw- and well, he fell (or slid) off the bed in the middle of the night- i couldnt help but laugh but he was crying- it was just so funny to think about- lol- i did have to confess to him the next day that i did laugh about it- once i found out he wasnt hurt.

friday, we headed to sea world- after about $500 on tickets (8 adult, 4 kids) we were in - luckily we had good weather- jeremy was sick though- a cold and he was miserable- :( first thing we did was feed the dolphins- that was fun- the kids really liked touching them and feeding them- well all but jacob, who is scared of everything these days! after that, we watched some kung fu guy- which jacob was also leary of- then headed over to the shows- first we saw the shamu show- it was neat- seems like it would be a really fun job to train those animals- but not for me! we then headed to lunch - which was another small fortune- and then to buy jeremy some swim shorts, because he decided to forget his- and then, to buy brittany some shorts to go over her swimsuit- bc she HAD to have them and forgot hers- and we then watched the sea lion show- which was super cute- and the boys headed home for a nap with pawpaw- the rest of us stayed and did some water stuff- until the boys got back- at that point- everyone was ready to leave- but justin was so excited to do the water part, i wanted to stay with him- and hoped jeremy would too, which he did- but i still havent heard the end of it!

when the boys came back from naps- they forgot to put the swim diaper on jacob- so he had been swimming in a regular diaper- fine, but so we took it off when we were done and woahhhhhhhh poop in it- so we wrap him with a towel to go change him and the people next to us tap her to let her know he has poop on his butt- yes, the towel was not covering it! ewwwwwwwww- so we take him to change him- and realize that the wipes are not in the diaper bag!!!! they must have fallen out in the car- so i was then on a mad mission to find wipes from random passer bys - and what do you know, i had to get wipes from THREE people, bc apparently everyone was low on wipes, and each person would hand me 1-2 and we needed WAY more than that for this mess! it was quite humorous once it was clean and over with!

saturday, we headed to aunt laquitas house for some bbq and to see grandmama- and celebrate her 92nd birthday- we had a good time- and justin was being overly photo happy- so i got some good shots of him with grandmama-

when we left there, some of us (the girls and justin) headed to the riverwalk... we first had to stop and buy brittany some MORE shorts, because this time she wore jeans and claimed we didnt tell her we were going to the riverwalk after grandmama's and it was too hot for jeans but she really wanted to go- hmm, maybe she is onto something- forget clothing items- and get new ones everywhere you go?!! nana also bought justin some power ranger hands- i bought the girls some more clothes, too- sucker!

we rode the boat and justin was exhausted and FELL ASLEEP on it- to most that is not that unusual- but for him it is VERY rare and almost unheard of- he never ever sleeps anywhere but bed- recently like the past few months, he has started sleeping in the car- but before that, NEVEr- i couldnt believe he fell asleep AND he dindt wake up when it was over- usually he is up- if you transfer him from car to house, etc- he was like dead weight and i was able to carry around my BIG baby for a little while in the mall since he stayed asleep.. sea world the day before must have really worn him out!

sunday, we headed home- and unpacked, did laundry-all that fun stuff.

june 23-25

i've been doing boot camp every monday and wednesday since the 16th- a 4 week session- the first day was too easy- so i went to jennifers after and we worked out a little more- but the classes after, especially last week were HARD- which i love- i love when i cant do everything and have to push myself- i also worked out with eden in between- we workout and then hang out and watch some tv- we have late night workouts- and sunday morning workouts- sometimes trina or shelly or jennifer join us on sundays- its fun

on wed- june 25, we attempted to take some family photos - with the in laws, bil, sil, neice nephew, kids and us- care took the pictures- she is a great photographer and friend of mine (she doesnt have a business, she does it for fun on the side) and she gives me the cd and takes tons of pictures- and i get to edit them myself (or she will if i want her to) - if you ever need family pics- let her know (i'll give you her number/email)... here are a few- it is HARD to get them all to cooperate for a picture! she did a great job! i headed over there straight after work- as did she it was HOT out- here are a few of the pics (saved off kodakgallery and photoshopped, but not the full quality images just for a preview)

june 16-22

Brooke had cheer camp during the day for mon-tue-wed. it was all the way in freaking Dickinson- 8am-3pm, how on earth do they expect working parents to get their kids to dickinson at those hours (it is about 40 minute drive OPPOSITE work- so about an hour from work)... annoyance- we managed to figure out rides for the girls (brooke and treshawn) every day though- brooke won an award for 'all american' cheerleader- she got some certificate..

justin got ANOTHER tummy bug- he wasnt puking this time, thank goodness- but he did have the runs quite a bit- and missed school wed and friday- wednesday, brandon, emily, brian and patty got here from chicago- well actually- they were in mexico for a funeral and then san antonio with patty's family- and then came here- they stayed for a week and a half- and then stayed in san antonio for a week and came back for a week (but brian and patty left the final week). Justin absolutely LOVES brandon- it's like having a big brother- jacob does, too- justin and emily play great together, too- and jacob of course likes anything justin likes- so they had a great time with their cousins- brooke and emily had a ball, too- emily and brandon stayed the night at our house quite a few nights..

that friday night, we had a karaoke birthday party for my good friend (and workout buddy), eden- to go to (jeremy and i) so brooke and emily stayed with jake - justin and brandon with nana/pawpaw, and brittany was babysitting for alex- it was a fun party- i might have to do it for my birthday, too- although i didnt do much karaoking...

the 20th was also the first soccer practice for justin- he missed it bc of his tummy bug- and then the next friday he missed bc san antonio- and the next because july 4 and the next the beach- so i ended up getting a refund (only for half though bc it was after the first practice) - so no soccer this summer !

we grilled at our house sat night (june 21) while the boys played outside in the blow up pool and the other kids played on the trampoline and then played chipwreck- and there was a HUGE storm that came- even was a tornado on 288 (right by our house).. sunday (june 22) we all went to the pool- well all but jeremy and jerry- party poopers! the boys love going to the pool in silverlake bc there is a slide and a wading pool in it - it's alot of fun-

still catching up june 9-15

Brittany had Drill team camp june 11-14, she had fun (i think) but was not ready for how much work it was! she told me it was SO hard and she was SO sore and she was not going to be on drill next year- i was like hello you have been there 3 days, you cannot make a decision like that! and so- i think she liked it a little more by the end- i mean i know she loves to wear the shirts that say diamond dancer- and she also got her diamond bracelet on the last day, kinda like an initiation into being a 'diamond' and no longer a rookie (i think). she came home on saturday evening and passed out- she was exhausted!

on the 14th, justin had a birthday party to go to from 9-11, then at 1pm we went to a pearland police department tour- where the kids learned about 911, strangers, etc. after that, we went to a friends to let the kids splash in her pool in the back- they were goofy and had fun.. at 6 we left for a wedding- it was really nice and fancy- we left the boys with brooke and elizabeth in charge (because brittany was still at camp til 8pm and we didnt want to leave brooke in charge of them both awake for 2 hours alone... it worked out fine...oh, and the coolest thing was this university of maryland terrapin ice sculpture- bc the bride played volleyball for umd!

listening to the officer talk about strangers, and 911...

behind the wheel!

jake trying to hang with all those big boys!

on father's day (the 15th), we headed to lunch at texas land and cattle but it was way too crowded, so we ended up at beaudreaux instead- yum! we took treshawn and lizzie along, bc liz had spent the night after babysitting, and we were dropping treshawn and brooke off in santa fe at reginas to spend the night after that- because they had cheer camp for 3 days in dickinson- BFE form pearland. anyway- later that night, elizabeth calls frantically in tears- that her eyes are swollen and she is itching and has hives and cannot breathe- and her dad wasnt answering his phone- and her mom- well, that's another story- so britt and i headed over there- and she was bad! she had hives all over her arm, she couldnt sit still, her eyes were swollen so bad they were almost shut! allergic reaction- but she has eaten shrimp before and never had one- so could have been a spice? but anyway- her dad got home and took her to the ER- they gave her benadryl and she refused to let them give her a shot or draw blood to see what she was allergic to- needless to say, it was freaky and scary! i am sad that i didnt get a good (or any) father's day picture- oh well- i have a million billion from ever other day of the year! jeremy enjoyed his day playing his game (world of warcraft).

on monday- the 16th, it was family night at chic-fil-a - some friends joined us- it was father's day/bob the builder night- and there was a castle building craft that home depot sponsered- but since jeremy was in louisiana (losing our money) for work (and some gambling) he wasnt there to help- he tried the next day when he got home but got frustrated and we ended up having to throw it away.... oh well- but noted to self, do NOT go on family night again- it was SO crowded, and the play area was full of too big kids- who trampled the little ones!

justin and baron with bob the builder (of course jacob was scared of him)

jacob with a hammer- is that safe? ;()
