another update..

last week was fun- justin had a story to tell me on monday! "mom, on the playground, E and two other girls had lipstick on and they were chasing us- E was chasing me and trying to kiss me! the other girls were chasing 3 other boys- but E was chasing me but i was too fast, so she couldnt get me.. " so then i started teasing him adn asking him if he liked her, etc- and he covered his ears and said 'nooooooooooooooo' with a huge grin and giggle' "mom, tell dad" so i tell dad while he covers his ears, smiles and giggles' but pretends to be annoyed by a girl wanting to kiss him (with his big grin of annoyance).. then "mom, tell brooke" lol- he wanted me to tell everyone but pretended to be embarassed.. so cute! guess he might get his first kiss in kindergarten like his daddy ...ha!

Last thursday, justin had a playdate at nana's house with his best friend from school, "M"  they had fun playing pokemon (not sure justin knew about it, but M brought his pokemon cards) and riding bikes-  M is five already, and knows how to ride his bike without training wheels... another reason justin wants to learn- now two of his three best friends can ride without training wheels (B can, too).  at one point, jakey wanted to get in on the pokemon fun, and took one of M's cards, and bent it- which made M cry, and nana went to see what happened and M said that jake took his card and bent it- and he told nana "i dont like that kid"  lol, my poor little jakey- i was kinda annoyed that M said that, but then realized that he was just frustrated and didnt understand that he didnt do it to be bad, he is just too little to understand the importance of pokemon cards lol...

monday- blah.

it is COLD and wet outside-  jeremy and i are going to the rodeo tonight- going to see tim mcgraw with another couple-  guess we will have to skip the carnival part (i dont ride rides, anyway).. boys are staying with in laws, girls with themselves...

this weekend came and went- busy as usual- friday i left early for a garage sale for my moms group- not many people showed up- disappointing, but my boys had fun playing on the rainbow play system with sb's boys!  my camera battery wasnt charged, so no pics.. then we went to los cucos for dinner, YUMMY green sauce, and good strawberry margarita's  yum...

saturday, off to the garage sale again- this time, it was open to the public, and i priced my stuff really cheap, but still made $210... and still have a ton left- i'm going to have another garage sale with a friend later this month.. the boys had fun playing again while we had the sale-  then, took the girls to see definitely, maybe-  not that great of a movie- just so so..  then off to hibachi for dinner (tokyohana).. jacob FREAKED OUT the first time they did the fire.. shaking crying and wouldnt let daddy put him down for a while... the next time, we warned him first that it was coming, and he did okay.   then, justin got so spend the night at nana and pawpaw's house all by himself.  he even got to sleep in their bed, he was very excited to tell me about that.

sunday- we had a birthday party, and a concert- justin roberts (www.justinroberts.org).  a friend was helping coordinate the concert, and convinced us to buy tickets- glad we did bc the kids LOVED it- and got ice cream after-  well, i cant say that jacob loved it, bc he paid no attention, he was too busy climbing on chairs and laying on the floor pulling up treasures from under the seats, but he still had fun!  after the concert, justin got justin's autograph and a picture..

today is crazy hat day at school (dr. suess week) so justin wore his crazy hat!

yippee- i am finally on my last post of 2008!

so i will try to get caught up on january before january is over- so i can try to stay on track this year!

so- for new years eve, we were in maryland visiting my parents. well, jeremy and the boys and i were- the girls were with regina and gran gran (regina's mom) and their sister, montana.

my sister and my niece and nephew were there, too. it was alot of fun for the kids to hang out together. we got to celebrate hanukkah with grandma bird and grandpa, too. (grandma bird is my mom- and my boys call her that because when justin was little, before he could talk much, he saw a picture of my mom on my refirgerator- and pointed to her and said 'birrr' bc he remembered she had a bird - so, ever since then, we call her grandma bird.)

for hanukkah, the boys got plenty of gifts- movies, books, games, cars, colors, clothes- they did well! we lit the hanukkah candles and sang songs, but the boys were upset they couldnt blow them out- we usually let them blow them out at our house bc i am paranoid of fires..

grandma took the boys to pick out some new years hats and noise makers for our celebration- they had alot of fun making alot of noise! little emma wasnt too thrilled about it, but she survived.. hehe. my sister's bff, lisa came to celebrate with us- she is alot of fun with the kids- she gave them piggy back rides around the house and was at their beck and call to entertain them! once we put the boys to bed, jeremy played his psp, and lisa, lisa and i watched the nkotb ppv concert from wayyyyyyyy back when. good times :)

wait, we cant forget the SNOW in texas! DEC 10, 2008

so, it SNOWED in texas!  yes, first time since dec 24, 2004 when justin was not even one!  It started snowing as i was walking to my car in the parking lot after work, and continually got harder- and was even sticking to the grass- that never happens in texas!  if it was snowing on the east coast, i would have been annoyed, but since it was in texas, i liked it- hehe.

of course on the snow day, my expedition decided it did not like snow, and started acting up, and as i drove home, one by one the lights, radio, clock and ac went out- i got worried so jeremy told me to pull off and turn the car off and then back on-so, i pulled off at the community college on my way home, and turned it off- and... it wouldnt start back up!!!  so, i sat, freezing in my car (bc i couldnt turn it on to turn the heat on) and waited for jeremy to come meet me- he was going to jump it... well, he got there, and someone had parked next to me, so he couldnt get close enough to jump it- so we called AAA.  we had fun while we waited -at least we were in the heat of his truck! but i was really upset that i was not home taking pictures of the kids in the snow, this only happens every few years!    anyway, AAA came after about an hour, jumped it, and we drove it to firestone automotive.  they kept it overnight, ran all kinds of tests on it the next morning- for the battery, electrical system, etc..and found nothing wrong with it!  my car must just not like snow!

luckily, when i got home, even though it was dark, there was still snow on the ground and a few flurries left, so i got a few pictures - brittany was a party pooper and said 'i've seen snow before!' and didnt come outside with us to play..

2008 holiday card

here is our holiday card that i made this year... yes, i know that when i whitened the background in the picture, part of jeremy's ear got erased...just pretend you dont see it.

here's the card i made for my sister:

also, here' s our card i made from last year (since i didnt have a blog):

Christmas 2008

Because we didnt leave for maryland on christmas day, like we have in the past, we were able to celebrate christmas at nana and pawpaws AND at our house. we havent had a christmas day of opening presents in our house since 2002. ever since then, we've flown out on christmas day- last year, we all flew out on christmas day, but the girls, jeremy and his parents went to chicago, and the boys and i to maryland.

anyway, it was nice to relax, and enjoy my days off of work at home for a while ... christmas eve, we headed to nana and pawpaws house- well actaully, everyone headed over there around 11am and worked on making a gingerbread house,

but i didnt get there until 4 or 5 because i had to work! nana made some beer bread (yum), queso, and the kids favorite thing was the chocolate fondue!

they couldnt get enough of it- especially brooke and justin! justin and nana made some cute stockings and dreidels that had candy in them- that they gave us.

that evening, we opened the presents that were at nana's house and everyone got to scratch off their lottery tickets. every year we all get tickets- noone has won big yet, but it's still fun! that night, when we got home, we had the boys write their letters to santa claus. i am not sure if justin believes in santa, but he pretends he does.. so they wrote their letters, we left some cookies and milk, and they went to bed. brooke then made a letter from santa to leave for the boys... she spent alot of time on it, and even laminated it! jeremy and i set up the new computer monitor, the tool bench, and the smart cycle so that santa's gifts were ready for morning.

because we never are home for christmas, the kids didnt know that most kids wake up at the crack of dawn to see what santa brought, and to open presents.. my kids slept until 930!

they read santa's note (well we read it to them) and they opened their presents- jacob gets sidetracked after one present- so he only opened a few and justin ripped the rest open for him- justin likes to open his presents FAST and carelessly- brooke likes to take FOREVER and likes to wait until everyone else has opened theirs before she opens hers- and brittany is a normal present opener. lol.

the girls got some clothes from pink and pj pants from pink, a camera, more clothes they had picked out at thanksgiving, frames, gift cards, jewelry, perfume, socks, shoes- i cant even remember what else. the boys got linkin logs, zoob, smart cycle, tool bench, computer monitor, a broom- which is jacobs FAVORITE toy of all- $3.99 at kaybee toys! a stomp rocket, alien maker, magic set, star wars dress up clothes, and more-

jeremy got some oakleys, a shirt, world of warcraft keyboard, a new mouse- and i got a gps, some cd's , new camera case, and i am getting a jewelry armoire when i find one i like that is reasonably priced...

after we opened the gifts, we headed back over to nana and pawpaws for some yummy food- we had turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn casserole, green bean casserole, rolls, stuffing, cranberry sauce and probably more that i'm forgetting- and of course several desserts. we spent a while there playing, and then headed home for naps- the girls then left to go to reginas house to celebrate christmas over there- and get MORE presents! we headed back to nana and pawpaw's for leftovers for dinner...

here's brittany with her annoying half smile..

and jake entertaining us...

the boys LOVED the disposable cameras that nana and pawpaw got them.. who knows what is on them, especially jacobs, since he never even looked through the hole when he took the pics, he put the camera up to his forehead and snapped lol

and believe it or not, Kay (nana) and i WERE there, although you'd never know bc noone took pics of us!
