grandma bird and grandpa came to visit..

two weekends ago, grandma bird and grandpa came to visit.

grandma bird got her name because when justin was around 1 yr old, he saw a picture of grandma (my mom) on our refrigerator, and he remembered her parakeet- but, the parakeet (emerald) was not in this picture- but he pointed to grandma, and said 'birrrr' so, he called her bird, so we thought it was cute, and started calling her grandma bird, and to this day, now both boys call her that-

well, ok- so not jacob- he is funny and refuses to call her grandma- instead, each time we tried to get him to say 'grandma' he'd laugh and say 'gan-pa' he went around the house all day yelling for GAN-PA! we'd say, yes, grandpa, now say GRANDMA, and he'd say 'GAN-PA!' he is funny, i think he was doing it on purpose to amuse us..

while they were here, i took off work friday- we went to the zoo- i renewed our family membership, bc nana said she plans to take the boys there some this summer- they both love the zoo, and they have this splash park play area and playground in the children's zoo. (we didnt do the splash park when we were there bc we didnt bring a change of clothes for the boys).. aunt marsha joined us at the zoo until she had to go to work. She always keeps the boys laughing, she makes funny noises like the animals, and acts silly with them- justin LOVES for aunt marsha to visit! friday night, teeball was cancelled- :( we were disappointed bc we wanted grandma and grandpa to get to watch justin practice.

saturday, grandma took the boys and brooke (bc brittany was still asleep and takes HOURS to get ready) to the half price book store and bought the boys some books- aunt marsha also bought them a few, too! then we went to target, where brooke found something she liked. after naps, we spent the rest of the day outside.. jumping on the trampoline, playing with bubbles, playing out front, and then we went to the park. aunt marsha bought some cool spiderman frisbee things, and the boys had a blast playing with them. from there, we walked to jakes grill, where the boys played some more after we ate. jeremy and the girls met us there. then, we went to picomollo, and walked back home.

sunday, it was already time for grandma and grandpa to leave.. but we did get our own teeball 'practice' in the culdesac before they had to leave- it was beautiful outside! after i dropped my parents at the airport, i went to clear lake to meet my tax lady- we are getting some (not much, but better than none or owing) money back, yippee!
